This weeks letter is from Elsie in Ellon, Elsie wrote:

Dear David

I am a little concerned over my daughters new boyfriend, who on the whole is quite nice but certain parts of his manner really do concern me, especially if the two are to form a long term bond together. At times he is so kind and gentle toward my daughter, yet at other times he is really ignorant towards her and indeed the rest of my family. Also, at times he is very, how do I say, apathetic, he is quiet, shows no interest in what we do, basically it is if he is not there. I have discussed both of these concerns with my daughter who says we can’t all be perfect, which I do realise. I suppose my question to you is quite simple, out of all his faults which is worse, ignorance or apathy.

Please please help me,

Thanks - Elsie
